Taylor Plumbing Hamilton (also trading as Taylor Contractors) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect it, why we need it and what we do with it. It applies to information collected through this website, our quote forms, phone calls, and lead forms we run on advertising platforms such as Meta, Snapchat and TikTok.

We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you have a question about anything on this page, contact us and we will help.

Personal information we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name, phone number and email address
  • The service address and suburb for the job, where you provide it
  • Details about the plumbing, drainage or gas work you need
  • Records of your contact with us, including calls and emails
  • Information about which website page or advertisement you came from
  • De-identified technical information such as browser type, device and pages visited

We do not collect payment card details through this website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age.

How information is collected

  • Quote and contact forms. When you submit a form on this website, the details you enter are sent to us securely so we can respond and quote your job.
  • Phone calls. When you call the number shown on this website, we may record or log details of the call so we can follow up on your job.
  • Advertising platforms. When you submit a lead form on Meta, Snapchat, TikTok or another advertising platform, the platform passes your details to us so we can contact you about your enquiry.
  • Website browsing. Like most websites, our site collects technical information about visits through analytics and advertising tools described below.

Why we collect it

We collect personal information so we can:

  • Contact you back about your enquiry
  • Quote, schedule and carry out work at your property
  • Coordinate tradespeople, parts and appointments
  • Keep records of jobs, guarantees and compliance requirements
  • Improve our website, services and advertising

How we use it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, quote work, deliver our services, and keep accurate business records. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Marketing and customer communications

When you contact us, we may follow up by phone, text or email about the job you enquired about. We may also send occasional updates or offers about our own services. If you would rather not receive marketing messages, tell us and we will stop. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP to a text message opts you out.

Lead information received from advertising platforms

When you fill in a lead form on a platform such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Snapchat, TikTok or Google, that platform collects the information you enter and passes it to us so we can respond to your enquiry. Those platforms have their own privacy policies that apply to how they handle your data, and we recommend reading them. We use the lead details only for the job you enquired about and follow-up communication you would expect from us.

We may also share limited, de-identified events (such as a form submission or phone call) back with those platforms so they can measure how our advertising performs. This helps keep our advertising relevant and cost effective.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how people use the site and to measure our advertising. These tools include:

  • Analytics (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager). To understand which pages people visit and how the site performs.
  • Advertising measurement (Google Ads, Microsoft Bing). To see whether our ads lead to enquiries, so we do not show irrelevant ads.
  • Call tracking (CallTrackingMetrics). So we know which ad or page prompted a phone enquiry. This is why the number shown may differ from our main office number.
  • Live website tracking (GoHighLevel). To see when someone is active on our site so we can respond quickly to enquiries.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block or delete them. Blocking these cookies will not stop the website working, but it does mean our advertising reporting will be less accurate.

Service providers we may share data with

To run our business and this website we use trusted service providers, including:

  • GoHighLevel: our customer relationship management system, which stores enquiry details and handles our phone number tracking and communications.
  • Google: website analytics, advertising measurement and call reporting.
  • Microsoft (Bing): advertising measurement.
  • CallTrackingMetrics: call tracking and recording services.
  • AddressFinder: address autocomplete on our quote form, to help you enter your address quickly.
  • Advertising platforms: Meta, Snapchat, TikTok and others, for lead forms and ad measurement as described above.

These providers process information on our behalf. Some of them may store data outside New Zealand. Where your information is held overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected in line with New Zealand privacy law.

Data storage and security

Information you send through this website is transmitted securely (HTTPS) and stored in our customer management systems, which are protected by industry standard measures including access controls and encryption in transit. Only people who need your details to run your job or respond to your enquiry can access them. We keep enquiry and job records only as long as we need them for business, legal and guarantee purposes, and we delete them when they are no longer required.

Access, correction and deletion requests

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. There is no charge for these requests.

Email us with the details and we will get back to you within 20 working days. If we cannot meet your request, we will explain why.
